Biography
Helena Marchetti founded Avon Chambers in 1998 after eight years in the corporate group of a Wall Street firm, where she came to a plain conclusion: the clients who most needed a partner's judgement were the ones least likely to receive it. She built the practice around the opposite premise.
Her work centres on mid-market mergers, acquisitions and financings, typically between $10M and $150M, with a concentration in fintech, healthcare services and industrial manufacturing. She has led more than 240 completed transactions and sits as outside general counsel to nine companies, several of which she has advised since incorporation.
Clients retain Helena for the difficult conversations as much as the documents — valuation disputes between founders, board deadlock, the diligence finding that arrives ten days before signing. She negotiates directly, drafts her own key provisions, and does not hand a matter to an associate once the engagement is signed.
Helena chairs the firm's opinion committee and teaches an annual seminar on deal governance at the Columbia Law School Center for Transactional Studies.
